Budha smriti park is opened for public in 2010 and it was inaugurated by a14th Dalai Lama himself on the occasion of 2554th anniversary of Lord Buddha. It spreads over 22 acres of land in Patna.
There were two special saplings that were planted at the time of its opening. One was bought from Anuradhapura in Shri Lanka, and another was bought from Bodhgaya.
