Alappuzha is one of the most popular districts in Kerala for its immense natural beauty.

Alappuzha beach is one of the most popular spots in the district of Alappuzha. The pier, which extends into the sea here, is around 140 years old. With the Arabian Sea on the west and a vast network of lakes, lagoons and several freshwater rivers criss-crossing it.

Entertainment facilities at the Vijaya Beach Park add to the attraction of the beach. There is also an old lighthouse nearby which is greatly fascinating to visitors. The beach has boating facilities besides it has a children's park and toy train for kids.

Referred to as the Venice of the East by travelers from across the world, this Backwater Country is also home to diverse animal and bird life. By virtue of its proximity to the sea, the town has always enjoyed a unique place in the maritime history of Kerala.

Today, Alappuzha has grown in importance as a Backwater Tourist Centre, attracting several thousands of foreign tourists each year. Alappuzha is also famous for its Boat races, Houseboat Holidays, Beaches, Marine Products and Coir Industry.

Kayamkulam Krishnapuram Palace: Krishnapuram Palace is located about 47 km from Alappuzha town in the Alappuzha-Kollam Route.

Pathiramanal : Pathiramanal is an island in the Vembanad Lake.

Ambalapuzha Sree Krishna Temple: Ambalapuzha Sree Krishna Temple is located about 16 km from Alappuzha.

Mannarsala Nagaraja Temple: Mannarsala Nagaraja Temple is one of the most important centre of snake worship in Kerala, Sree Nagaraja temple is situated at Mannarsala near Haripad town, about 35 Km away from Alappuzha on the Alappuzha-Kollam route.

Arthunkal St. Andrews Forane Church: The Arthunkal Church is located about 22km away from Alappuzha near Cherthala.

Edathua St. George's Church: Edathua St.

Champakulam: Champakulam is famous for the Boat Race which is held during the month of July.

Punnapra Vayalar: Punnapra Vayalar is the place where Travancore Police and Communists confronted each other during a revolt in 1946.

Chettikulangara Bhagavathy Temple: Chettikulangara Sree Bhagavathi Temple is one among the five temples established by Lord Parashuram.

Nehru Trophy Boat Race: A large number of tourists are attracted by the boat race conducted at the Punnamada backwaters on the second Saturday of August every year.

Haripad Subrahmanya Swami Temple: Situated at 51 km.
