Akkulam, Kerala

Akkulam is a tourist village in Trivandrum district of Kerala state in south India. Akkulam is about 10 km from Trivandrum town. Akkulam is a well known for the picnic and backwater destination Akkulam Lake, an extension of Veli Lake, where it joins with the sea. Akkulam is home to the southern air command of India.

Major Attractions

Akkulam Lake is situated 3 kms away from Ulloor junction, in Trivandrum city. Boating facilities are provided in the lake. The children's park here is one of the biggest children parks in Kerala. There is a beautiful picnic spot on the banks of the Akkulam Lake.

Akkulam is a place known for its scenic beauty with a picturesque lake. Boat club in Akkulam provides over dozens of boats for joy riders. Lazing on the cool banks or boating on the placid waters are good ways to spend a holiday. Akkulam is one of the first picnic spots in the suburbs of Trivandrum City. Akkulam "Tourist Village" is one of the other major attarction in Akkulam.
